My introduction to the business was as a teenager pulling lumber off a green chain. Today with Welco, I sell Western softwood into the U.S. Midwest and Northwest and imported boards out of Charleston, SC. The daily challenges and competitive atmosphere are what make this business exciting - but keeping my Customers supplied, informed, and satisfied is what I find the most rewarding. In my downtime, if I'm not on the tennis court you won't find me too far from home with the family.

Jim Lazaruk

I have been working on the fringes of the lumber industry since 1975. My first 1 ½ decades had me selling electrical equipment to BC sawmills and pulp mills. By the early 90’s I was selling specialized log skidding equipment to central BC’s logging contractors; as well as into Brazil and Ecuador. While in Prince George I played an instrumental role in designing some new tree harvesting equipment for under water logging in Ootsa Lake, BC. By 1998 I had moved to Calgary and started a new phase of lumber related activity – working in the matting industry, building 8’ x 14’, 3 ply mats from oak, aspen and hem-fir; serving the major oil and gas producers of Western Canada. This included developing two new mat handling attachments for use on heavy equipment.

I have a passion for sales and marketing, especially thriving on unique challenges requiring creative problem solving. I am thrilled to be a member of the Welco family and am proud to be part of such a dynamic, service oriented team.

Bob Golding

I started my lumber career in 1975 working for various lumber yards in Southern California while going to school.  After which I spent the next 8 years in the construction business before going to work for Golding Sullivan Lumber in 1983.  In 1990 I took control of the company and ran it until joining force with Welco in March of 2006.

With a sales office in Southern California, Welco is in a unique position to expand its full line of value added products aimed at the retail and contractor yards in California.  Joining a team like Welco is very exciting and I look forward to the opportunities it will provide our customers in the future. My wife and I enjoy spending our spare time scuba diving, snow skiing and kayaking.  We have had the great opportunity to photograph some of the most beautiful reefs systems in the Caribbean and South Pacific.

The summer of 1976, Bob Golding approached me to join him in forming Golding Sullivan Lumber serving Southern CA. . and continued it until we joined forces with Welco Lumber in 2006. I absolutely love the people involved in the lumber business. There are some third generation family members that I have the pleasure to work with and consider them and others to be some of my greatest friends. I have had the honor of being the past President of the Lumber Association of California.

The 2nd Growth, LA / OC Hoo-Hoo and various Community / School / and Youth related organizations. In 1969 I spotted a very cute girl riding her bike; in 1985 she became my wife (took a while to close that deal). Nancy and I are blessed with 3 teenagers Joseph, Chasen & Annie. We spend most of our time as a family doing whatever they enjoy. Amazing, they like to hang with us. The boys and I have started a small collection of old Pickup trucks from the 1940s 50s & 60s. In 1993, we moved from Southern CA. to the Sequim Dungness Valley located on the North Olympic Peninsula in Washington where we built our home on Mc Donnell Creek. I am very happy to work with Bob out of the Welco’s Costa Mesa, CA sales office to service our Southern California customers.

I have been selling wholesale lumber and building materials in Missouri, Kansas and northern Arkansas since 1978. In that time I have had the pleasure to form business relationships that have evolved into friendships with both customers and mills alike. This industry undergoes constant and continual change. It is gratifying to have seen the many changes and to have been involved with them. I am looking forward to the future of this growing, diversified and successful company and the many mill exclusive sales programs we currently have in place with more to come. I personally am proud of being able to offer my customers Select Structural high quality lumber in 2x6 and wider. This enables them to pass along the quality of high grade lumber to their customers. I maintain the largest (1 million board feet) inventory of 2x6 and wider Select Structural Hem Fir in a six state area. Since coming aboard with the professionals at Welco, I am now able to add 2x4 and 2x6 Winton Global to our menu of quality lumber products.

I enjoy fishing our many freshwater lakes and streams here in Southern Missouri with my best friend Cindy. We have one fabulous daughter, Lynn. She is married and works as a Surgical ICU RN in Houston, TX.

I joined Dwight and Travis in the Missouri office in October of 2006.  I take care of the general office “stuff” and the paperwork in the office so Dwight and Trav can use their time to trade.  I also handle the logistics for our office as well.  I have enjoyed working with them and hope to continue doing so for years to come.  I am also still a college student at the local university.  I will graduate in December of 2007 with my BSBA in Accounting.  After that, I plan on working towards obtaining my MBA degree and CPA certification. In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, fishing, and hunting.  I also guide waterfowl hunts during the winter months.

As a new member of the Welco team, I bring 49 years of experience in the lumber and building material business. The first 12 years were in administration, truss production, pallet manufacturing, sales and purchasing. The last 37 years have been in wholesale of Southern yellow pine and spruce throughout the Midwest, southeast and Florida markets. During these years I have developed many business & personal relationships that I value highly.

I have always strived to provide my customers the best quality lumber at the best price. Having looked at the quality of mills that Welco represent I am excited about being able to present these mills to my customers.

I have always been a very active person from running track in my school years to boating, fishing, scuba diving, tennis, golf and flying. As of now I am trying to get my golf game back on track having played rather sparsely over the past 10 years. My wife Shirley and I we both enjoy working in the yard and traveling.

I am very proud to join the Welco team. I have been in the lumber business for 25 years; retail, wholesale distribution and mill sales. I started on a forklift in 1983, moved into retail management through 1993. Eventually I wound up in the wholesale distribution business in Florida. I have been trading primarily in the Florida market, the Midwest and throughout the Eastern seaboard. Through the years I have met many great people in the industry that actually are now considered to be my best friends. Believe me; I know what it's like to wait on a load from a vendor that's holding up five of my deliveries therefore, service is my number one priority!

I will be responsible for contributing to Welco's success through distribution sales as well as selling mill production in the Florida market and other parts of the U.S.

My wife, Wendy and I share a blended family of 4 wonderful children ranging in age from 12 to 24. I spend alot of time on my boat and love to fish both competitively and for pleasure with family and friends. Occasionally I even enjoy a round of golf!

I am fortunate enough to have made many friends since I started working in the lumber industry in 1992 as an administrative assistant at A.C. Dutton Lumber. Through the years I have gained experience in the administration side of the business, rail & truck traffic and have evolved into sales as well.

I have found my co-workers to be more like family than just friends. I am looking forward to extending that relationship with the Welco team.

My husband Brian and I have 2 active boys, therefore my hobbies include whatever they are doing such as scouts, camping, and football. But when I get the spare time I enjoy running, working out and occasionally kick boxing.
